1. What type of wood are your pieces constructed of?

A variety of woods is used to create my pieces. We use Northern White Pine, Yellow Pine, Basswood and Birchwood. All my pieces are hand-crafted by highly skilled craftsmen.

2. What techniques do you use to acquire your finished product?

I use several techniques - for example, free hand painting, decoupage and woodburning. When the decoupage method is used I combine it with free hand painting to create a coordinating background.

Brief explanation of techniques:

Decoupage is basically taking an image, cutting it, and gluing it onto your surface and finishing it with several coats of varnish. Sounds simple but it's very time consuming.

Some of the Shelves and Clocks pictured in this site were decorated with the decoupage/painting method inorder to reduce labor cost and details were hand painted.

Woodburning is done with a "pen" that actually burns onto bare wood. I take an image and transfer it onto the wood, color it with oil pencils, varnish each image and then I stain it. This technique needs to be done on bare wood - not on painted wood. 3. I would like a piece custom made to match my nursery. How do I go about doing this?

All you have to do is mail me a piece of your wallpaper, wall border or anything you have that depicts the colors and theme of the room you want to decorate. This will give me an idea of the colors I will use, plus it will provide me with the image I need to create your piece. Otherwise, you can contact me either by e-mail or phone and we can discuss the theme and/or colors of your choice.

If you live in the Miami area and would like to place your order in person, please note that we require a 50% non-refundable deposit on all custom orders over $150.00. If you decide to cancel your order, please note that we reserve the right to keep your deposit. Please note: Shower centerpieces, favors, guestbooks and pen holders are all made to order at the time you give us your deposit.

4. Do you sell unfinished wood products?

No - we are not in the business of selling raw wood products - only fully painted, finished items. Our business does not manufacture the wood. We have taken much time and effort in researching our designs and more importantly the craftsmen that will make them for us inorder to offer you a beautifully designed and finished product.

5. What method of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal or you may send us a personal check, payable to Ceci's Wooden Treasures. We will not begin any work on your order until your funds have cleared with the bank. We process all orders through a "secure" shopping cart. Your credit card is charged upon receipt of the order. If you change, add on, or rush fees are necessary, there will be another transaction on your credit card to reflect the difference in the change to order.

6. Cancellation of Order

If for some reason you choose to cancel we will issue a credit to your card on items that have not shipped or if work has not been started. However, if work has been started on a custom ordered item or if it has been sent out to be personalized, we cannot return your full amount but will return 50% of your order.

7. Can my purchases be Gift Wrapped and include a Gift Message?

Yes, we can provide gift wrapping for only $1.50 per item and a Gift Message card for free!
Go to our Gift Wrappings page and complete the message cards for each gift you need wrapped. Please note that large wooden items cannot be giftwrapped as well as some of our other product lines. This is noted on the products page it applies to.
